Precautions for battery handling
Basic rules
• For long-term storage, the battery must be charged to approximately 60% SOC, and its corresponding voltage must be 1.05 times higher than the rated voltage (24 V, 36 V, 60 V, or 72 V). This is usually the voltage at which the battery is transported. The battery should be stored in a dry and ventilated place.
- The battery and charger should be stored in a clean, dry and ventilated place, avoid contact with corrosive materials, and away from fire and heat.
- Do not put the battery into the water and do not allow it to get wet!
- Do not charge, use, or store the battery near heat sources such as a heater! If the battery leaks or emits a strange smell, immediately remove it away from the heat source. Fully charge the battery before using it for the first time.
- Do not swap the positive and negative poles of the battery!
- Do not throw the battery into the fire and heat it up!
- Do not allow the battery to short-circuit with wires or other metal objects!
- Do not break, hit, or push on the battery!
- Never disassemble the battery!
- Do not place the battery in a microwave oven or high pressure vessel!
- If the battery emits an odor, gets hot, deforms, changes color, or behaves abnormally, stop using it. Please do not use the battery if it is charging!
- Do not use the battery in a very hot environment, such as in direct sunlight or in the car on a hot day. Otherwise, the battery is overheat, which will affect the performance of the battery and shorten its service life!
- If the battery leaks and the electrolyte gets into your eyes, do not rub, rinse immediately with water and get medical help immediately!
- The ambient temperature affects the discharge capacity of the battery. If the ambient temperature is outside the standard conditions (23 ± 2 ℃), the discharge capacity will be less.
Battery technical maintenance and charging:
- BE SURE TO charge the scooter's battery fully before using it for the first time (follow the charging rules in the instructions).
- Charge the battery when a residual charge is less than 20%.
- Charge the battery to 50% of its rated capacity before long-term storage.
- Charge the battery during 6-8 hours or until the indicator light on the charger turns red and green.
- DO NOT let the battery be deeply discharged. Do not store the battery fully discharged.
- For safety reasons, do NOT charge the battery for more than 24 hours.
- TURN OFF the vehicle when not in use.
CHARGING
The scooter's battery is supplied charged to 50% of its rated capacity. We recommend that you charge the battery to 100% of its rated capacity before using it for the first time.
CAUTION: Do not allow the scooter's battery to be deeply discharged, as this may cause damage to the scooter.
1. Make sure the electric scooter is turned off.
2. Open the charging socket cover, located on the right side of the scooter frame under the footboard.
3. Take the charger. Find the end of the charger, which has a three-pin plug, and connect it to the scooter.
4. Then insert the power plug into the power socket.
5. When the charging is finished, first pull the plug out of the power socket, then disconnect the plug from the charging connector of the scooter.
When you connect the charger for the first time, only the red light will light up, indicating that the charging process has started. As soon as the indicator light on the charger turns red and green, you can turn off the charger and close the protective cover.
